Clinic Information

Follow-up

You will be asked to bring your pet back to the hospital for regular weight checks with your Weight Management Nurse. If you have to travel a long distance to attend the clinic then we will request you return to your own veterinary practice for regular weight checks. Your Weight Management Nurse will keep in regular contact with your Veterinary Surgeon to monitor progress and offer advice where necessary.
Target Weight
Once your pet has reached its target weight we will ask you to return to the clinic so we can repeat the initial appointment, therefore your animal will receive another health examination. We will recheck the blood pressure and repeat blood tests again. We will re-scan on the DEXA machine to ensure that your pet has lost all the excess fat and that the weight loss has been successful. As before, there will be no charge to you for this service.

Once your pet has reached its target weight we will discuss and decide on a maintenance diet for your pet.  You will still receive full support when your animal has completed the weight loss.

Certificate Rosette
Pet of the month

A competition is run each month for the most successful slimmer.  If they are the lucky pet to win, they receive a special rosette and a free bag of diet food!  Once weight loss is completed your pet will also receive a certificate to congratulate them on their achievement.
